It was a brave effort from Tom Curran and the Gulf Giants, but unfortunately, we couldn't secure the win as the Desert Vipers held their composure and claimed victory by 5 wickets. It's a tough loss to swallow, but with two matches left, we remain determined to turn things around and finish strong.

After being put in to bat, James Vince and Tom Alsop gave us a steady start with a 25-run partnership. However, we lost momentum when Vince was dismissed for 15. Alsop followed soon after, falling for 17. Our middle order struggled as Hetmyer, Jordan Cox, and debutant Tim David couldn't make an impact. We found ourselves in serious trouble at 61 for 8, staring at a potential collapse below 100 runs.

That’s when Tom Curran stepped up with a sensational knock. He played fearlessly, smashing a remarkable 64 runs off just 34 balls, including powerful boundaries that lifted our spirits. His innings helped us recover and reach 129 runs in our 20 overs, giving us something to fight for.

Our bowlers started brilliantly, dismissing Alex Hales and Fakhar Zaman early. Chris Jordan added to the pressure by removing Dan Lawrence. Blessing Muzarabani delivered a fantastic spell, claiming three crucial wickets. We kept pushing and created chances, but Max Holden anchored the Vipers' innings beautifully. Despite losing Sam Curran and Azam Khan, Holden remained calm, finishing unbeaten on 70 and steering his side to victory.

While it’s a disappointing result, we take heart from the fighting spirit shown by Tom Curran and the bowlers. With two games remaining, we must win both to stay alive in the tournament. Our next match is against MI Emirates on Friday, January 31st. We are focused on delivering a stronger and more consistent performance.
