It’s been a tough run for us in the DP World ILT20, with just one win in five matches. Despite the challenges, our playoff chances remain alive. We’re focused on winning our remaining games and giving it our all till the very end.

We were sent in to bat first, but things didn’t go as planned. Losing Ibrahim Zadran early put us on the back foot. James Vince tried to ignite a comeback with a quickfire 24 off 15 balls, including 4 boundaries, but he couldn’t continue and was dismissed by Dushmantha Chameera. Debutant Tom Alsop also fell early, leaving us in a tough spot.

We needed a strong partnership, and Jordan Cox and Gerhard Erasmus delivered. The duo put together a vital 69-run stand to stabilize the innings. Erasmus was dismissed, but Cox kept fighting. His superb knock of 70, featuring some classy strokes, kept us in the game before an unfortunate run-out ended his innings. We finished with 153 on the board, a decent total, but likely below par for this surface.

Our bowlers started strong, keeping things tight and picking up early wickets. Mark Adair dismissed the dangerous Ben Dunk for just 10, while Aayan Khan maintained his impressive form, taking the key wickets of Khalid Shah and Gulbadin Naib. At that point, we seemed to have the upper hand.

However, the Dubai Capitals fought back with Sikandar Raza and Shai Hope, who rebuilt the innings smoothly. Zuhaib Zubair gave us a glimmer of hope by dismissing Hope, but that’s when Dasun Shanaka took charge. His explosive 34 off just 10 balls sealed the game in no time.

It’s been a tough season, but we’re not backing down. Our next game is against MI Emirates on Saturday, and we’ll give it everything we’ve got.
