Gulf Giants have roped in England cricketer Chris Jordan as their premier fast bowler for the inaugural edition of International League T20 (ILT20).
The Barbados-born cricketer has been the wrecker-in-chief for the England team in the T20I format since making his debut against arch-rivals Australia in February 2014. Jordan has already bagged 95 T20I wickets in 84 matches at an economy of 8.72 and an average of 27.05. He is currently England’s highest wicket-taker in T20I cricket.
Apart from playing a crucial role for England in cricket’s shortest format, Jordan has also played 35 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and eight Tests. While the 34-year-old has picked 46 ODI wickets, he has also recorded 21 Test scalps so far.
Meanwhile, Jordan plays for Surrey in England’s domestic cricket. Additionally, the England fast bowler has also represented several T20 franchises across the globe. He has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.
The right-arm pacer has also represented Adelaide Strikers, Sydney Thunder, Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League (BBL). He has donned the jerseys of Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Jordan also has the experience of playing in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) as well as in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Under head coach Andy Flower, Jordan is likely to lead the Gulf Giants bowling attack in the first season of ILT20, starting on January 13, 2023.
