Gulf Giants will lock horns with MI Emirates in their seventh match of the inaugural International League T20 (ILT20) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday, January 27.
Led by their talismanic captain James Vince, the Giants have won four of their six matches in the ongoing T20 tournament so far. The Adani Sportline-owned outfit has suffered just one defeat while their last fixture against the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders was abandoned without a bowl being bowled due to rain.
With nine points from six matches, the Giants are currently placed at the top of the ILT20 2023 standings.
Meanwhile, captain Vince has been the leading run-scorer for the Giants in the inaugural ILT20, amassing 229 runs in five innings at an average of 57.25 and a strike rate of 150.65. In the bowling department, Chris Jordan has been the wrecker-in-chief for the Giants, having bagged 10 wickets in five matches at an economy of 8.17.
On the other hand, the Kieron Pollard-led MI Emirates will aim to bounce back after succumbing to back-to-back defeats against Desert Vipers and Dubai Capitals in their previous two matches.
Having registered three wins and two losses, the MI Emirates are currently placed third in the six-team standings with six points from five games.
For the Emirates, Pollard has led from the front in the ongoing T20 tournament, accumulating 225 runs in five matches at an average of 75 and a strike rate of 177.16.
