Adani Sportline-owned franchise Gulf Giants have signed English cricketer James Vince for the inaugural edition of International League T20 (ILT20).

Since making his T20 debut for Hampshire in England’s domestic competition in 2010, James Vince has been a prolific run-scorer in cricket’s shortest format. The 31-year-old has already amassed 8,339 runs in 312 T20 matches at an average of 30.54 and a strike rate of 134.28. The West Sussex-born cricketer has smashed four hundreds and 49 half-centuries in T20 cricket.

Known for his wide range of strokes, Vince has hit 939 fours and 206 sixes in his T20 career so far.

Following his impressive showing in domestic cricket, the right-handed batter later made his T20 international debut for England against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in November 2015.

Since then, Vince has featured in 17 T20Is for England, scoring 463 runs at a strike rate of 128.25, while also maintaining an average of 27.24. He has two fifties to his name in T20I cricket.

Apart from representing England in T20I format, Vince has also played 22 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 13 Test matches so far. Interestingly, Vince was part of the England cricket team squad that won the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

The England international also has the experience of playing for various T20 franchises around the world.

Vince has donned the jerseys of Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Furthermore, he has represented Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League (BBL).

The swashbuckling middle-order batter has also featured in New Zealand's Super Smash and South Africa's Mzansi Super League.

Having played more than 300 T20 matches, Vince will bring wealth of experience to the Gulf Giants set-up as he is expected to play a crucial role both with his batting and his leadership skills.

The first edition of ILT20 is scheduled to be held from January 13, 2023 to February 12, 2023 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
