Gulf Giants will look to continue their winning streak when they take on Sharjah Warriors in their fifth match of the inaugural International League T20 (ILT20) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday, January 23.

The James Vince-led Giants have been the only unbeaten team in the ongoing T20 tournament, having won all their four matches so far.

With eight points from four matches, the Adani Sportline-owned Giants are currently placed at the top of the ILT20 2023 standings, two points more than Desert Vipers and MI Emirates.

The Andy Flower-coached outfit head into the game brimming with confidence after they beat the Vipers by five wickets in a high-scoring encounter at the same venue on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Giants captain Vince will aim to continue his scintillating form against the Warriors, having already scored 228 runs in four matches at an impressive strike rate of 152. In the bowling department, Chris Jordan has been the leading wicket-taker for the Giants, having picked seven wickets in four matches at an economy of 8.74.

On the other hand, Sharjah Warriors rode on Tom Kohler-Cadmore’s unbeaten 47-ball 106 to defeat Dubai Capitals by seven wickets to register their first win of the tournament on Saturday.

Having chased down 178 in just 14.4 overs, Moeen Ali’s Warriors secured a dominating victory over the Capitals as they ended their three-match losing streak.

Having bagged just two points from four matches, the Warriors are currently languishing fifth in the six-team standings and need to win against the Giants in order to stay in contention for the playoffs.

For the Warriors, last match’s centurion Tom Kohler-Cadmore will be the player to watch out for. The 28-year-old has amassed 177 runs in four matches at an average of 59 and a strike rate of 165.42.

Going by their recent form, the Giants will start as overwhelming favourites against the Warriors in Dubai on Monday.
